Work at Sweet Wheel Farms

Sweet Wheel Farms is a nonprofit chemical-free farm and farm stand located in Summerland, California. We grow fresh produce without herbicides, pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or GMOs, and provide our community with direct access to locally grown food.

Our farm stand serves as a bridge between the farm and the public, offering a unique opportunity to learn how a small agricultural business operates on a daily basis. Team members gain hands-on experience in produce merchandising, inventory management, customer service, food handling, and farm stand operations while working alongside farmers, chefs, and community members.

This position is especially well-suited for students interested in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Agriculture, and Local Food Systems. Employees develop a practical understanding of local agriculture, direct-to-consumer sales, and the challenges and rewards of operating a community-based farm business.

A typical day may include helping customers, displaying produce, maintaining the appearance of the farm stand, caring for fresh flowers and herbs, sorting and packing produce, processing dry goods such as beans, and ensuring that all products are presented at the highest quality.

If you enjoy working with people, appreciate local food and agriculture, and want hands-on experience in a fast-paced farm environment, we'd love to hear from you.

Join us in helping connect our community to fresh, locally grown food while learning the daily operations of a working farm and farm stand.
