Sweet Wheel Farms is a nonprofit chemical-free farm and farm stand in Summerland, California, where students can gain real-world experience while making a meaningful impact in our local community. We grow fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers without herbicides, pesticides, synthetic fertilizers.

Whether you're looking for a part-time job, internship, or volunteer opportunity, you'll become part of a small, collaborative team.

Every day is different, offering the chance to learn about regenerative agriculture, retail, nonprofit operations, and chemical-free food access.

Students work directly with our farmers and experienced staff while learning produce merchandising, customer service, inventory management, food handling, retail operations, and the day-to-day responsibilities of running a farm stand. Depending on the season, you may help harvest and prepare produce, arrange beautiful displays, care for fresh flowers and herbs, package dry goods, assist customers, or support special events and educational programs.

For students pursuing Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Sustainability, and Agriculture, Sweet Wheel Farms offers experience that complements classroom learning. You'll leave with a deeper understanding of local food systems, direct-to-consumer agriculture, nonprofit operations, and the challenges and rewards of building a healthier community through chemical-free produce.

Internships can often be tailored to meet university requirements and provide opportunities to work on meaningful projects in sustainable agriculture, nonprofit management, communications, marketing, community outreach, or food security. Volunteers are equally valued and play an important role in supporting our farm, our weekly community food program, and special events throughout the year.
